Richard M. Kleid Citizen of the Year Award Ceremony
The Citizens’ Association of Palm Beach (CAPB) hosted the inaugural Richard M. Kleid Citizen of the Year Award Ceremony on April 15 at Glazer Hall, honoring Fernando Wong and Tim Johnson for their contributions to the beauty, character, and spirit of Palm Beach. Established by CAPB Directors Kay List and Geri Emmett, the award recognizes individuals whose work reflects creativity, stewardship, and a lasting commitment to the community—values exemplified by Dick Kleid, a former Town Council President, Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman, and CAPB Director.
A highlight of the evening was a moderated conversation led by Betsy Shiverick, Chairman of the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach, exploring the future of Palm Beach, including the balance between preservation and thoughtful evolution. The event reflected CAPB’s mission to promote civic engagement and meaningful dialogue, with special thanks to our sponsors, supporters, JJ Butler, and Jill Glazer and the Glazer Hall team for making the evening a success.
